A press release in which Prof. Ahmed Aziz, President of Sohag University, explained what happened at the third coordination meeting of the “Plant Clinic and PhytosanitaryTechnologies” project. The meeting was held in Sohag University. Prof. Ahmed Suleiman – Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Hafeez – Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Kamal Khalil – Dean of the Faculty of Science, a number of faculty members and representatives of six Egyptian universities (Sohag University, Alexandria, Ain Shams, Mansoura Suez Canal, south of the valley) attended the meeting. The university president explained that the six universities, in addition to three European universities Bulgaria, Hungary, and Italy, are cooperating in the project, funded by the Erasmus+ -European Union, to establish the “Plant clinic” to diagnose plant diseases and pests. He explained also that the plant clinic directs its services primarily to the agricultural community and postgraduate students. In addition, it provides training services on modern technologies in the field of diagnosing plant diseases. Prof./ Bahij El-Deeb, the project coordinator of Sohag University, indicated that the Plant clinic aims to graduate a specialist under the name of “Plant doctor”, according to the needs of the labor market.
